A global financial crisis is looming and is affecting not only businesses but consumers as well. With shrunken investment portfolios, retirements, ongoing and potential for layoffs, depleted savings and frozen debt instruments, GM and Chrysler have revived talks for a potential merger to cut costs and shore up cash flows.
