How long could a settlement/lawsuit take? If the prediction closes by April 24, certainly this wouldn't be decided by then, would it? Do you want the prediction to close, but not be judged until the event occurs?

Years.

The only way this one ends any time soon is if they come to a settlement, likely granting both parties some IP rights.

On the other hand, a case like this will eventually settle. The odds of Gibson losing outright without SOME form of settlement is miniscule. Gibson isn't a SCO, where their entire business model requires a win, so they can take a settlement once it's clear a win is unlikely.

This doesn't seem like a very interesting prediction market. And with a short timeframe, after which the money will remain locked forever, I'd certainly not even consider playing it.
