"In one of the most significant legal rulings in the tech industry this year, a Superior Court judge in California has ruled that the practice of charging consumers a fee for ending their cell phone contract early is illegal and violates state law."
This is a prediction that the judgment will be upheld on the first (inevitable) appeal takes place. While there is not any way to know exactly when this appeal might take place, if this decision still stands as of October 1st, this will be judged in the affirmative.

Kevin, this is a solid prediction, I'm not sure why so many people are voting it down. Maybe they believe this itself is the prediction?
Yeah, it does seem odd that so many wouldn't want to predict this. Do folks normally thumbs-down people who have a lot of S$ maybe?
Sorry Kevin. IMHO, the timeline for appeals is not definite and may drag on for a while. As Chris has indicated, this is almost a 100% if put into bet play as I feel the appeal decision wont happen until past target date. As such, there won't be enough variability to make it an interesting play.
