Sue Decker to become the next Yahoo! CEO

Today's major reorg at Yahoo! -- and Jerry Yang's mysterious absence from the announcement as reported by BoomTown -- has revived the question of whether Sue Decker is being positioned to step into the Yahoo! CEO role.

The Yahoo! shareholder meeting is set for August 1. Corporate Governance advocate Carl Ichan, incensed over Yahoo!’s refusal to accept the MSFT $33 per share takeover offer, is waging a proxy battle to throw out Yahoo!’s Board of Directors. Jerry Yang’s position as CEO is also rumored to be on Ichan’s hit list.

This is a prediction that Sue Decker will be announced as Jerry Yang’s replacement as the next Yahoo! CEO on or before August 2, 2008.
