On the first day of a major technology conference aimed at the startup set, the last thing organizers need is a wireless outage. Yet that's exactly what's happening at the TechCrunch50 Conference, where attendees are unable to get on Wi-fi networks at the San Francisco Design Center. However, Twitter is accessible, thanks to SMS and people checking in from Starbucks and other wireless hotspots outside the conference location. Some attendees are using the service to vent:
