As far as the bailouts having effects on the market goes, large swings of +1000 gain in one day, I think, can only be achieved right after their announcement, and not as a result of an actual bailout. That's why I'm not too worried about the time it will take for bailouts to take their effect, in this context. Also, the 15% gain in 1933 was the change from the previous day's close, of $53.84, to the next day's close, of $62.10. I don't know how far above 15% did the change in the price go, during its intraday fluctuation, back then; but that is what's important in this prediction: it's highest inraday gain (from the open price).

This one is cutting it close. Final stage of closed beta to kick off late October or early November. No mention on when this final stage concludes. Suffice to say, Open Beta will start in Japan before anywhere else when it happens.

This prediction is looking good. Looks like G1 is a bonafide hit possibly eclipsing iPhone. According to this article from Motley Fool, already 1.5M G1 pre-ordered with 2M more for retail. With 2 weeks to go for pre-orders to be filled and the rush for non T-Mobile subscribers at retail, 500K is now possibly a milestone already passed.

Is this including the 34 logins per day per user from the viewer crashing, or losing connection on teleporting to a new SIM?

Is it also considering the people using 23 accounts and camping at artificial traffic sites for 10L an hour?

SL is cheap advertising. For them to have 1 sim and nothing ingame telling about it is stupid. Also stupid is selling ingame clothing to 2 peopel a day for $1 each. Sell fecking subscriptions so you can charge more for your magazine ads! DUH

Of course they'll break 10,000 apps by the end of this year and probably double that by the middle of next year. The main problems will be on how many duplicate apps there'll be and how will users be able to cut through all those thousands of apps trying to find one's of value. I spend hours looking and find it difficult to wade through what is available now. Maybe the App Store needs better cross-referencing or more categories like the top 50 selling apps for each type of app. Somehow the App Store seems cramped or something. I can't see enough apps at a time.

It's going to be tough on developers of apps that don't have large appeal but are still very useful. Their less than popular apps are going to get lost in the shuffle in no time at all. They're going to need help from other internet sites doing reviews on the many apps that will be popping up on a daily basis. Looks like there might even be a need for magazines doing reviews on all types of apps. 10,000 apps is a heck of a lot to wade through and I don't even want to think about 20,000.

@Lev, I have active "against" bets. I am expecting wild and large swings on a daily basis until the crisis is tamed (as seen on Friday Oct 10). However, +1000pts above open is a challenge in the given time frame. With multitude of countries now enacting bail out plans of their own (requiring passage through their own legislatures), it will take some time before any of these bailouts take real affect. The highest ever daily gain is about 15% which took place in 1933 when the DJIA was still below 100. It will take more than 10% to break the 1000 points mark today. The largest point gain in a day ever is tad below 500.

David Kernell, the 20-year-old son of Democratic Representative Mike Kernell of Tennessee, got popped. According to CNN (“Democratic lawmaker's son indicted in Palin hacking”), he reset the password and gained access to GOP VP candidate Palin's personal E-mail account. It is alleged that he read the contents, took a screenshot of her E-mail directory and obtained other personal information. The information that may have been compromised includes E-mail addresses and pictures of family members, one or more cell phone numbers of family members, family birthdates and more from Palin's address book. Interestingly, after turning himself in, David Kernell pleaded not guilty. He pleaded not guilty despite the fact that he (allegedly) took the information he hacked from Palin's personal account and posted it to a public Web site. Not only that, but he posted the new password he’d created, which would enable others to easily access Palin's E-mail themselves and view any of the contents. As a result, Kernell Junior may be subject to the heat of a five-year prison term, $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. That’s enough to turn anybody into a fluffy white piece of popcorn. At the maximum of $1,500 per loan, that bail would require about 167 individual payday loans to free that fluffy little popped grain treat from being overcooked by cellmates.

This has a possibility of happening, judging by the Dow's huge decline over this passed week and the plans to buy up equity, announced today. Yet, it's hard to imagine the index going all the way up to +1,000 points, from a single day's open to close. Let's see what happens on Monday :) ..I have some cash at stake here..
